Songs for the Earth

Volunteer Cella Neapolitan teaches the children environmental songs each week in the Clean Commissioneducational program called "Songs for the Earth." Please contact Kim for copies of the audiocassettes and lyrics.

Clean Commission volunteer Cella Neapolitan (right) and Sycamore teacher/Clean Commission board member Janey Bassett lead her fourth graders in one of their Songs for the Earth. Each week Cella visits Janey’s class to teach environmental songs. In this photo, they are singing Tom Chapin’s “Wheel of the Water” all about the water cycle, including rain and thunder, punctuated by a loud clap. Program materials for Songs for the Earth-a 90-minute cassette of songs and printed lyrics-are available free of charge to teachers and parent volunteers at the Clean Commission office.
