Putnam County and City Convenience Center Locations
- New Hours Starting Sept. 5, 2008: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday , Friday and Saturday 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
All manned centers are closed every Thursday and Sunday.
What to bring: Residential recyclables are: #1 and #2 plastic beverage containers and detergent and bleach jugs, newspaper and inserts, magazines, catalogs, junk mail, paperback books, phone books, cardboard, aluminum and steel can food/beverage containers. (These are the types of recyclables also accepted at the City Centers.) Also used motor oil, wet cell vehicle batteries, fence wire, appliances and scrap metal. The centers also accept grass clippings and leaves (in bags) and household garbage. No glass at the County Centers, only at the City Centers.

Putnam County Landfill 11089 Cookeville Boat Dock Rd. Baxter, TN 38544 (931) 858-4071 Hours: Monday thru Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. closed on Sunday. Will Accept: Residential recyclables i.e. Plastic, paper, cardboard, metals,used motor oil. Also household garbage.
Construction/demolition waste (brick, block, Wood waste, drywall, insulation, shingles, brush, limbs, yard waste, tires as listed above, carpet and carpet padding at this site only ! Residential waste free of charge as stated above. Commercial waste must pay a tipping fee
Cookeville City Convenience Center Locations*
These four centers accept the above described paper, plastic, aluminum and steel cans. In addition, they have containers for clear, green and brown glass.
